      Annual Layoffs dating back several years

      Cons

      I was constantly in fear of getting laid off since PTC had annual layoffs every year while I was employed there for over 6 years. Finally, my time came and I was laid off after reaching a director level position.

      Solid learning opportunity for beginners, but not much beyond

      Pros

      I learned so much about UX design from my seniors while at PTC. My seniors were always willing to back me up and show me the ropes, and I will forever appreciate the team with whom I worked.

      Cons

      PTC doesn't prioritize design as much as more innovative tech companies do, and opportunities for career advancement or even merit increases are sparse. Within my first year at PTC, my seniors were already warning me to leave as soon as I could, because soon enough I would stall in what I could learn or earn from the company. Toward the end of my time, I also grew uncomfortable with how my skip-level manager was willing to throw my diligent colleagues under the bus while praising me.

      Tremendous amount of opportunities to learn and develop. Plenty of cross functional work and opportunities to move on to different roles throughout the company.

      Cons

      Needed changes to improve inefficiency are very slow moving but improving.
