      Pros

      -- Flexible work hours -- Work from home opportunities -- Great coworkers -- Fast-paced, interesting work -- Very little micromanaging -- GREAT opportunity for interns -- pay interns very fairly.

      Cons

      -- Constantly changing directions. Reactionary. -- Regular layoffs - probably 2-3 rounds a year. Lots of rounds of hiring/firing. -- Very little room to move forward. As others have said, people will stay in the same position for 20 years. -- No bonuses or raises for many of the past years. -- RAMPANT nepotism. Lots of layoffs, and then the upper management's husband/daughter/niece/nephew gets hired. Family members/family friends are regularly given more flexibility and opportunity. I've never seen anything like it.

      Pros

      Talented employees. Ability to move between development teams or organizations. Fun, casual and relaxed work environment. Promotes work life balance. Ability to work remotely. Great front-line management who care. Employee development and career progress is emphasized. Good benefit structure. Collaboration is encouraged, no knowledge hoarding.

      Cons

      Salary below market. Continual reorganization of upper/senior management and business units. Reactionary policies to market and economic trends. Process heavy about front-line management. Globally diverse teams creates small windows to allow for 1-1 communication. Continually changing company vision and re-branding creating confusion.

      Pros

      I've gotten to use a lot of different tools not talked about in school. I was given the freedom to choose what type of work I wanted to do.

      Cons

      In my experience, it's been that you are confined to your team. As a whole, PTC seems a little reluctant to move forward with new technologies.
