      Great place... crazy pace... pick who you work for carefully

      Pros

      Never a dull moment - the pace at PTC can be exhilarating and exhausting all at the same time. As PTC tries to keep various acquired technologies and businesses all moving at once, there is ample opportunity to learn and try new things.

      Cons

      Lack of focus. Older businesses with minimal investment look highly profitable until you realize the same customers buying your new stuff are the ones you antagonize by stringing them painfully along on the old stuff. Management quality varies widely across the company. There are some amazing leaders who devote time and develop their people... and there are others who were promoted with no development or aptitude to lead.

      Pros

      Great work-life balance. Nice people to work with. Very smart crowd.

      Cons

      This is a place for people who are more senior. If you're trying to build a career here, you'll be pigeonholed into a very specific role. You won't be able to acquire new skills. In addition, upper management can't seem to make up its mind about what the company should be. They're worried more about the company's image than refining a sustainable, long-term strategy. They throw around the "Prepare to Change" motto, when in reality it should be "Prepare for Chaos."

      Pros

      The Company has a great vision and a lot of potential to succeed. The people I work with in a daily basis are smart, passionate, and fun. The technical challenges are interesting and engaging.

      Cons

      Upper management decisions to focus so much attention on geographic location by way of relocating to Seaport, creating geographic centers of excellence and shunning remote employees is causing a huge loss of top talent.
