Pros

Good pay in the union shops. Rewarding and challenging work. Relaxed environment. Management doesn't micromanage or get overly involved in day to day work.

Cons

Management has no direct experience in the job they are managing. There is no training program to speak of. There is no budget for training and development, or even mundane things like paper plates. Standards are so lax, that everyone pretty much does whatever they want.

Pros

Steady paycheck. Since everyone needs electricity, not much chance of failing as a business.

Cons

The previous CEO at least tried to make employees feel wanted & valuable. Under the new-ish guy all pretense that employees are more than a drag on profits has been dropped. Morale is not good and there's a steady flow of people out the door. For the most part, their jobs are not being filled & those left behind are expected to pick up the slack...and "rewarded" with stingy 1-2% raises.
