BLAME GAME

Pros

Paid time off, company shutdown Dec 24th - Jan. 1st

Cons

Blame game. Lazy people get promoted. Workers are expected to work harder while the lazy groups get to remain lazy. Clique's run the place. Management has no idea of assembly/labor processes. Management only see numbers, no matter how unrealistic they are. Minimum wage for factory work. Morale is horrible. Promotion, never. 1-2% raise if that. I would have to work for 50 years just to make 5 dollars more. Low bonuses for the floor workers while front office maintain theirs plus the 1 hour lunch break everyday. Doing the math of 660,000+ hours a work year (24hours x 365days = 8760 hours/year. 660,000/8760= 75 YEARS! ) That's the amount of work the slave floor puts in. We don't get anything for it. A pizza day? A Potluck? WHO CARES!!? Give us what we deserve. A better life away from Pall.

Pros

beautiful office space, state-of-the-art building, convenient in-house cafeteria, company has finally implemented an electronic filing system which greatly improves productivity and saves a ton of time.

Cons

management does not offer growth within the company, company still in the dark ages regarding latest technologies and systems. management does not recognize accomplishments of each and every employee at this company. some people get away with spending all day texting and making personal phone calls while others are crucified for a minor error after producing a ton of work. this is definitely one place where it's not what you know but who you know.

Pros

Decent benefits. Bagels and blue jeans on casual Fridays. The company also provides Starbucks coffee for employees every work day. The perfect work environment for those who enjoy working extended hours - and on weekends.

Cons

The work force is very lean - therefore ability to actually use earned vacation is rarely feasible. Good luck being able to travel on your vaction... "Earned vacation" is more apt to become "earned work from home" day. There is an expectation that employees work long hours and weekends. What??? Cancer got you down?.. We'll make today "bring your chemo drip to work day"... nobody minds if your lips are blue from treatment. You'll be a trend setter and inspiration for others. The staff who have seen the local Ann Arbor site dwindle to a fraction of what Pall/Gelman once was, are great to work with. They however have witnessed fellow colleagues eliminated from the operation - often with little notice or questionable justification. Therefore those who are left, despite being pleasant - harbor anger and bitterness. Everyone believes their needs are more urgent than everyone elses. Not a good place to work if you have loved ones or interests outside of work.
