Pros

I will be laid off at the end of this month. I think the fact that I place this statement in the "Pros" section says enough.

Cons

A boring place (for me). Most of the passion I saw went into bad-mouthing upper management. The one guy I knew who actually thought the new acquisition would behoove everyone was ironically laid off last month. Do you want to try something new within the company? Would you like to apply for a different position to broaden your skills and knowledge of the company itself? Good luck! I tried about 15 times over the course of my tenure. I was stuck doing the same stuff every day for a decade. Some people like this consistency, but not I. A lay-off was the answer to my prayers.

Pros

Worked in various departments for 20+ years, gaining knowledge of both the technical side of the product lines as well as how best to manage the corporate teams. Proud of the achievements made to increase profit share. Had the privilege or meeting and working with many very qualified and wonderful people through the years.

Cons

Pall was recently acquired and unfortunately the new regime has and continues to downsize with their new visions and restructuring plans of where the company should be in the future.

Pros

Good medical benefits, good retirement plan, 401K, good customer focus, growing technology. Lean manufacturing, safety awareness, environmental responsibility and employee treatment complaint system are company good points.

Cons

Upper management is not really connected with their employees even though they believe to be. Most employees are not regarded as partners participating in growing the business and considered expendable for operating cost reduction to improve the bottom line, coupled with overall lower wages and minimal annual increases. A consideration for career minded individuals looking for a company to join long term. Some people are spread too thin resulting in over-stress and performance reduction.
