Bullying supervisors are rewarded with promotions

Pension. Health insurance. Tuition refund.

Cons

They promote supervisors who have a track record of bullying to senior management positions. Management protects each other. Favoritism - they promote their favorites even if they are not the most qualified. Senior management NEVER works with the public. Managers never work at night - those of us who are required to work at night arrive at work the next morning like zombies.

Some of the people make the job. But most upgrades are limited and you will do duties outside your designation

Hurricane shelter duty. Management is self serving.

Working in admin you have the weekends off. Most everyone in admin is lovely to work with. You get to help some with community activities.

Cons

Sometimes you do have to over extend beyond your work duties
