Pros

Absolutely fun, laid-back work atmosphere doing important work. Editors give writers a lot of freedom.

Cons

It is a small staff, there's not a lot of jobs out there. Hard to find a job opening to fill.

Pros

A lot of changes were happening when the Pamplin took over my previous company (Eagle Newspapers Inc.), and not all the changes were in place when my position was terminated.

Cons

My previous company treated their employees like family - and it was a smaller, family-owned business. Pamplin was a much larger company, and that family-caring atmosphere was not as evident.
