Pros

The company is doing very well so I haven't heard a single person being laid off. Once people are hired as permanent, it's unlikely to get let go. The benefits are good only when you are a manager because they get stock options, car allowance, company credit card, and cellphone allowance. Associates get healthcare, 401K, and 15 days of PTO.

Cons

Really frugal on everything. Trashcans are taken away to save money. Lights have to be shut off on certain days to save electricity. Paper towel dispensers are adjusted so there is less paper towel coming out. Team building event is restricted to a couple hundred dollars for 20 something people. There's a cap to getting a raise or salary adjustment but every year we have to pay for self development classes. Yes, they do give a learning credit of 400 every year but some of those classes cost more than 1000. If you don't take a self development course, you can't get promoted. Too many unspoken rules. Everything is about perception.

Good People, Kooky Culture

Pros

Amazing and friendly co-workers who are willing to help and easy to get along with. Also get discounts on Panda food and free meals from time to time. Stores are kept clean and safe.

Cons

Upper management is brainwashed by self-help programs like Tony Robbins and Landmark Worldwide. Be prepared to attend these seminars and either be all-in on them or be able to fake it if you want to move up in the company.

Pros

Worked with one of the best managers (who I heard is no longer there) and learned SO much! Panda is all about innovation and I was fortunate to work under someone who felt the same; however, the major downside is that the demographic they cater to is not fond of innovation. So while our team had ideas there was little room to deviate from the "classics." Panda does try to do health/wellness initiatives and even have a solid gym in the office for you to work out in before or after work. They mean well and try to inspire employees to live "The Panda Way"--though this sometimes comes across as slightly coercive. When I was there the employees were family-oriented. I hope that's still the case.

Cons

-Somewhat dogmatic culture rather than organic -Overemphasis on Landmark as a qualifier/determinant for promotion -Heard it's hard to move up
