Pros

The main advantage of working here was the food discounts. Otherwise you are evaluated fairly frequently and as long as you do your ob, you'll probably get a raise each time.

Cons

Management varied highly in competence and indifference. One manager put on my evaluation that I frequently forgot my nametag, when I really wore it everyday.

Pros

An open environment which allows anyone and accepts everyone except for those who are un-accepting, A great 60% discount on meals for each shift you work. Personally, A great General Manager and great co-workers.

Cons

A strict order of how things are done with limited freedom to be creative. A very stressful environment with a lot of weight dumped onto your shoulders (but this may be the case for any food service job). Impossible goals to meet set by upper management who you never meet and who do not do the tasks they set goals for (understandable considering it's a chain restaurant, but annoying because all stores are NOT the same and require different ways to be operated.) Constantly recycling through employees and working with people who are nice but new to the job and work at a "starting level" pace.

Pros

I loved all of the great friends I gained during my time with Panera. I moved swiftly from hourly associate to catering coordinator to shift supervisor to assistant manager to general manager so the opportunity for advancement is there for the taking. I gained a lot of great managment experience. I really appreciated the ability to make my own schedule as a general manager.

Cons

The biggest challenge as a general manager is managing your time and staying on task so you don't end up working way longer than necessary. The company asks that certain goals be met and it takes a motivated, energetic, and positive person to get the team on board and focused on accomplishing them.
