Pros

Plan, Prepare, and delivery all catering orders and do your own off and on site marketing. All tips go to you. Hours are good if you like getting up very early and going home after lunch time. mon-fri . If your managers are nice you will be treated with respect and rewarded for your efforts. Also I was already offered position in management, if your right for the spot and want to take it.

Cons

Depends on how busy your store is and how much sales you do per week. Wouldn't want to work anywhere below $1500-$2000 unless your prepared to go out marketing for new customers daily , or else you will be bored and broke. lots of stress and you need to be very organized, check for new orders even when your not working and the catering will start to take over. dont try to work 2 jobs or go to school with this position, at times it can be slow but when its busy... its busy. You need to physically and mentally fit and ready for long hours no break , and a lot of work but it usually pays off and you feel good after.

Pros

Pay is good, around 10-12 per hour. You work independently for the most part. Some stores have a nice baking area that's out of the way, others are crowded and cramped. You learn to work much more efficiently and how to be precise about proofing, baking temp/steam, timing etc. One free meal per shift, free drinks

Cons

Panera staff is very overworked, fast paced and high pressure. I once got a stomach virus at work and since they're perpetually understaffed and had no one to cover my shift, I had to work the whole shift in between running to the bathroom to puke. A bunch of other bakers in the area got the same virus due to the pressure to work while sick. Same with colds, etc. If one baker got it all of them got it. Management would get annoyed if you tried to call out. You also have to travel an hour+ for meetings. You also spend a lot of time pulling product from the freezer. You're required to take a 30 min break but a lot of bakers don't have time, so they clock their break after the shift. It's a lot of work and can be very draining. Especially night baking where you're alone in the store. Your shift is over whenever the long list of tasks is completed, so shifts can be very long, anywhere from 8-12 hours. But you're pressured to cut your hours while doing the same amount of work. Decent pay but not worth the stress IMO

Pros

Good atmosphere, control of your shift, no customers (not open), free meal nightly, decent pay

Cons

Insurance is very expensive, possibly working alone, difficult to have a social life (3rd shift), very strenuous nightly routine, very high expectations
