One of the better environments I've worked in

Pros

Pays well, good benefits, very fun work environment, lots of perks, work from home, some fun business travel (role dependent). You're not just a number, your ideas matter, and there is plenty of opportunity to move up, sideways, or whatever direction you'd like to go. Work/Life balance is as good as it gets.

Cons

A bit disorganized, a little top heavy, almost nothing happens quickly, and training could be better. If you want something to get done in a hurry, you have to push. If you're not a self starter and need hand holding, there are probably better companies for you out there than Parallels. For me, this place is a great fit.

Pros

Parallels technology is incredible competitive. OS virtualization provides lots of benefits and if the company made an attempt to really market it, VMware would be nervous.

Cons

Senior management had NO communication down at all. At one time, this company owed me 12 weeks of salary and I never received an explanation why this happened. Russian founders brought their culture to the US. They frequently lay off and rehire if anyone does any thinking or questioning about strategy. They pit people against each other and just expect you to work and be grateful for a job.

A Great Place to Work

Pros

Good benefits. Flexible schedules - getting your work done is what counts most. People love working here and get along very well.

Cons

Not too many, actually. Senior management is very reserved and isolated - could communicate more to the employees. Rare to get an update on the business or direction of the company. Most information comes third hand. Company has split off divisions and has sold them. Opportunity for career growth is limited.
