Pros

Great people all around. Working on very interesting content across the board. Fun place to work given the dynamic nature of the work and people. Friends and family can almost always associate with one of the MTV Networks brands, so having conversations about what you work on is always engaging. Generally pretty good hours and people are very reasonable and polite when working together.

Cons

Can often be slow to get projects accomplished or completed. Would be great to get more guidance and direction from senior management. Time Square Location is definitely a downside. Too many tourists when trying to get lunch.

Pros

Its a very creative and receptive environment. The people their are usually fantastic to work with, and very interested in getting the work done and having fun as well. Depending on where you work the work load varies slightly but it is always daunting and a fairly fast paced and intense place to work. I love it there.

Cons

But, do I think I deserve to get paid more? Absolutely. The management their doesn't get paid very well either I don't think so at least your all in it together. Expect to work late into the evening alot and also expect to have everyone pulling on you at once.

Pros

There are some very good and intelligent people working at the network, and it's a joy to be around them when you can avoid b*tching and moaning about the company all day. The work environment is relatively relaxed. Free soda all day long. There are some good employee-related events that take place and allow you opportunities to build relationships with other people at the company's sister networks.

Cons

There is a lot of interdepartmental confusion amongst members of senior level management. For a media company, there are too many levels of approvals and overall red tape that need to be handled before anything gets done, which can lead to an employee feeling almost worthless. The pay is not great, and benefits for a permalancer are practically non-existent. If they do exist, getting an answer out of anyone is a chore. In general, it feels like there is an overall lack of effective communication amongst all parties working at the network. Nobody is on the same page.
