Pros

- beautiful building with great views of the mountains - complimentary drinks and snacks - open environment - food trucks directly downstairs - private building gym (additional fee) - competitive salary and benefits - good work/life balance

Cons

- culture needs work, very cliquish and high school - not everyone are friendly - managers set bad examples of being on their cell phones, excessive chatting, doing personal tasks on company time, facebooking - lack of communication between teams/dept leading to wasted time and delays - only offers inflation raises - contract employees are often excluded in events creating a divide between staff and contractors - not a lot of room for growth

Thanks for your post! I am disappointed to hear that you didn’t have the best experience working with managers and teams in the office. We recognize that having a supportive & qualified manager is vital to an employee’s personal growth and work life satisfaction and we are always looking ot provide in office opportunities for employees to bond and get to know each other. But, in regards to contractor participation in office events. Although we fully appreciate and love having our contractors as part of the team, from a legal perspective, contractors are not allowed to attend many events and office activities. This is a legal requirement from the government that we are required to adhere to.

Pros

Viacom has great perks which include PTO days, Summer Days, activities for employees and children, working remotely. Great people and variety of personalities.

Cons

Viacom does not pay what other companies pay, after a certain amount of years your time with the company is limited, constant layoffs and company politics.

Creative Stagnation

Pros

Good People. The people you meet are diverse and lovely. The hours depend on your role. People who are makers will find themselves working later to compensate for poor planning and management.

Cons

Not a creatively driven company. If you come from a design or brand background you will likely find it hard to progress in your career here. It is hard to make quality work as an internal creative team member, as most of the projects are outsourced to small studios. Not good at building young creatives into company and creative leaders.
