Pros

PAREXEL offers a lot of variety and independence. Opportunity to work on many different types of projects, and communicate with employees on a global scale. Employees are friendly and helpful, and there is a GREAT work-life balance.

Cons

Same cons as any big company - very hierarchical. A lot of process, a lot of approvals needed to get anything done. Big global company creates a lot of chaos - can be good or bad depending on your work style and preference.

Pros

Location is good, even after the move away from Lowell. Benefits were good with some discounts

Cons

After 2008, all they cared about was cutting cost and keep them down. management didn't care about quality of workers, only that they come cheap. This might be a pro for some but I considered it a con- in certain departments( ahem IT ), you had to have done something really really really bad to get fired. It can be discouraging coming into work, especially if you're a hard worker, because you don't get recognized for your hard work and the slackers don't get reprimanded. Buddies/Groupies/Close friends rule the IT department. It's hard to get promoted unless you're with the in-crowd. Some of the things these people get away with can make your head shake... a lot of times they're just surfing though.

Pros

The Roth 401(k) option was nice to have. There is a lot of work to do and this could have been a very good thing, however, there were significant downsides. My coworkers were good people and I really liked my manager. After all, we were in the same boat.

Cons

My job description changed the day I joined the company and I was not going to be doing the job that I accepted. I would not have accepted the job I ended up doing. Work hours are very long due to the heavy workload and an unwillingness to staff projects appropriately. Travel was excessive so my work-life balance went out the window.
