Pros

Pariveda is a young company that actually follows it's values. The leadership of Pariveda are all very focused on growing talent. As a person young in my career I see my managers coaching us to develop us into effective IT consultants and leaders. They seem to want to see us achieve the same success they have rather than fear that we will replace them. Very active reviews and semi-annual reviews help make individual career/talent growth a top priority on everyone's list. Annual reviews come with opportunity for significant raises and are reviewed/given feedback by managers, principals, and even VPs. I do not have any colleagues external to Pariveda that go through a review/promotion process comparable to Pariveda's. The Dilbert Principle very much does not apply here. Due to all this there are very little politics at Pariveda. The structured growth eliminates a great deal of politics and playing favorites that I've seen elsewhere/at clients. Finally, the people at Pariveda are excellent. Some of my best friends are colleagues here. The culture is young, fun, and open minded. There are plenty of happy hours for the social people and there are some smaller groups that get together for game nights and the likes for those that are less fond of bars and happy hours.

Cons

The structured growth model with consultant, associate, etc levels makes it difficult to 'sky rocket' to the top. If you are hired as a consultant, you have to hit every level between before you become a manager. Some people I have talked to about this scowl at the rigid structure and assumed rules it implies. I couldn't decide if this was a pro or a con. As an ambitious person it seems oppressive, but it also prevents incompetent leadership from gaining control. Everyone must learn before they lead. Realistically, if you really are a rock star in your field, you will become a VP at Pariveda as fast or faster than anywhere else. Due to the pressure on our profits/cash from the rapid growth of Pariveda, year end bonuses are not often available. This might change in the future. While most project do not demand long hours, sometimes deadlines and deployments require you to work late and/or on weekends. That is just the nature of IT consulting and while Pariveda mitigates this significantly, the company is not entirely immune.

Pros

Working at Pariveda gives you the opportunity to work at different clients which means different projects and technologies that you can learn

Cons

You spend a lot of time commuting. It's hard to pick where you will live because you don't know which clients you will be working for.

Pros

Pariveda is like the consulting firms of old where they would hire smart young people and steward their careers toward the executive level. Pariveda really cares about their people. All conversations about strategy begin with the question, "What is the right thing for our people?". Pariveda only hires folks that fit their culture and they are very picky about it. It's refreshing to work at a company that's not interested in diluting the talent pool. The work is challenging and engaging. Pariveda is focused on finding projects that fit their unique value proposition and keep their people engaged. The benefits are very strong and salaries are directly tied to your level in the company. If you want to make more, then you need to meet the requirements set out in the Expectations Framework and get promoted.

Cons

Pariveda is a very challenging environment. If you are used to remaining in your comfort zone and not accustomed to being challenged regularly and asked to do things that are difficult, Pariveda is not the place for you. Pariveda is attempting to build future leaders very quickly, which means you will have to work hard, network in your city, and perform community service. As such, Pariveda isn't for everyone.
