Pros

Pariveda is true to the company mission and there is a strong focus on talent development that you will not find at other consulting firms. The company does not make decisions based on what will make money in the short term if that decision does not make sense with the long term goals. There is more training here than at other firms. Employees are given consistent feedback as well. The best reason to work at Pariveda is that the expectations at each level within the company are 100% transparent. This seems truly unique and enables employees to clearly understand what the next step in the career progression is and what they need to do to get there. People tend to be promoted faster here than in industry since our employees have to learn more quickly and get more varied experience. For people who like being continually challenged and work on a variety of projects, it can be a great fit. Salaries are also 100% transparent. Transparency is truly embraced and senior management regularly sends out financial reports to the entire company. Previously, when I have worked at privately held firms, this was not the case. Finally, Pariveda has an ESOP (employee stock ownership program) and pays out profit sharing from the bottom up, i.e. the lower level employees get paid bonuses before the executives. It really is a company that is focused on its employees and invests in them.

Cons

For some individuals, the extra training and networking requirements can seem like more work than working in industry, but the people hired here tend to be overachievers anyway. Because we are so committed to our talent, it is tougher for us to hire and grow as quickly as some other firms.

Pros

There business model works for a professional services firm.. Local projects working with a diverse client base Leadership - savvy in IT consulting Potential for rapid career growith is supported Hire top-notch people who are young and ready to work but inexperienced

Cons

Core values were severely tested in the recent economic down turn which produced overly aggressive time lines and the beginning of a cultural click mentality. The organizations growth potential is strictly up or out. The organization is culturally difficult for consultants that have experience and families. Neither experienced nor family is supported under the current cultural practice model. The organization uses an intricate framework model to rate its consult which hits on every aspect of a consultants performance including personal conduct, professionalism, behavior and communication. The ratings framework often lapses into double standards and weed out based criteria. Expect to be on pins and needles the whole time at this organization.
