Pros

- the company is definitely invested in employees, from both a growth and well-being perspective - transparency in payscale and promotion process is great - they focus on work that will help employees grow as opposed to work that will purely line the coffers - formal mentorship program is a big focus firm-wide, and is very helpful for career growth and assistance - VERY focused on continual learning and engagement; this comes with the warning that if you aren't willing to put in the work to keep growing, you won't be a good fit

Cons

- they try hard to be transparent, but sometimes miss - VERY male and VERY white across the firm - pretty single-tracked path to progress at the firm; if you don't fit the model, you will eventually have to leave

Pros

The culture starts at the top, and Bruce (the CEO) said himself that the only reason he started this company was because he wanted to make a completely new way of running a business, where the culture was truly one about growing each individual and making sure everyone was supportive of each other. You see it in how the promotion and salary policies are laid out -- everything is fully transparent. And they invest a substantial amount of money into mentoring, learning opportunities, and activities to strengthen the culture of "connectedness." Your coworkers will all be smart and hard working, but the environment isn't cutthroat. Expect people to stay on calls for hours with you just to help you with a task, purely because they care about you. Pariveda also makes a point in only looking for work they think you'll find interesting. So whatever you're working on, it probably won't be old legacy systems.

Cons

Since this is consulting and not a tech company (you'll still do software development though) the salary isn't going to be as competitive as big tech. Having said that, people normally go into consulting for the breadth of experience and faster growth potential. Your hours are highly dependent on the client you're working on. Even though management works hard to make sure you aren't overworked, you'll occasionally have to pull long hours.

Pros

- Pariveda is full of people who really do care about your growth - Transparency around pay and expectations emphasize focusing on your own development instead of competing with others - Opportunities to work with a variety of tech stacks in a variety of industries - Depending on the client, there's never any pressure to work more than 40 hours a week

Cons

- It's consulting, so it always depends. Sometimes there are ineffective teams, "boring" projects, tough clients, and distant managers - A feedback-based culture means you have to be vocal and give feedback on the above problems, which can be difficult at times. Otherwise they might not be addressed (and even then, might not be at the speed or manner in which you desire) - Transparency around pay can also feel like a restriction when comparing to other tech jobs - Some projects have an unspoken expectation that you deliver work above your cohort level, and these are framed as "growth opportunities"
