Pros

The pay is good Benefits are good

Cons

Good ol boys culture. Men become upset if you don't say good morning, or move out of the way for them or say excuse me when they invade your personal space. No diversity. There is no training, but hand holding extreme micro managing and gas lighting disguised as "training " because they" haven't trained anyone in 20+ years" which is ridiculous because resumes will tell you if the person you hired is competent to do the job they're hired for. Small company means close knit folks. If you don't know someone before starting, prepare yourself to be reported on, talked about and basically spied on.

Pros

The people were the best I've ever worked with - it was like working with friends and family. They did a great job explaining the ESOP and how each person can contribute to share value. Benefits are above average for a company this size Most of the leadership there were thoughtful in their decision-making and would consider what was good for the company as well as what was the RIGHT thing to do, in general. The ESOP is great and I am still benefitting from it after my departure. I have to address other peoples comments about the ESOP....To be clear - because I know how it works - shares are based on compensation, but eligible compensation has a limit - not all of their compensation counts for getting ESOP shares. The intent of that is to ensure that ESOP shares do NOT unfairly benefit high earners. Yes they will still earn more, but it's false to think that they are getting tons of shares. They aren't.

Cons

Same cons you will find at any company that size - not enough money in the budget to pay for everything you want, not a lot of room for internal promotions., etc...

Not good people at the top

Pros

The ESOP is good but that is about it

Cons

Upper management is intolerable. They only think about the shares of ESOP that they have. They like to fire people so that the the ESOP goes back into their pockets. They give commissions and then take them away after you have worked extremely hard to build up the territory. Then they drop your salary significantly from what you made the year before.
