Overall all-around solid place to work

Pros

Great commitment to remote work (where possible), especially after COVID. Solid benefits. Zero issues with work / life balance. Compensation has been great and steadily improving alongside inflation.

Cons

This is a bit of a reach since overall I am very happy with Parsons. I guess the main thing I can think of is the lack of centralized technical resources (I'm thinking particularly compute / SaaS) and the deferring to individual contracts for those types of offerings. There's also the whole "government contracting is beholden to the current administration's whims", though that's not unique to Parsons.

Disappointing Leadership Culture

Pros

A few genuinely good people. That's about it.

Cons

Leadership lacked accountability, and the culture felt cutthroat rather than collaborative. I did not feel supported by my manager, and there was a noticeable disconnect between how leadership interacted with senior leaders versus how they supported their own teams. From my perspective, diversity and inclusion did not feel like priorities in practice, and that negatively impacted my overall experience.

Pros

1. Ability to work fully remote 2. Generally friendly and easy to work with co-workers 3. Flexible hours and deadlines

Cons

1. Hours must be charged to specific projects that each have maximum hours being audited by both management and payroll. 2. Often shortage of projects. 3. Very little career advancement opportunities 4. Per diem expenses are extremely difficult to get approved.
