Pros

I've never met a group of people who come to work with such positive vibes and aspire to achieve great things. It's contagious because it makes me want to be even better in every aspect of journalism. I've also never worked with a group of people who encourage and root for one another to keep achieving their goals, along with acknowledging the hard work that everyone does to continue taking Patch to the next level. We all have the same goal here: delivering the best LOCAL news possible to our readers. If you want to be part of the NEW generation of local news, this is the place to be. We aim to be that go-to source where all your neighbors know exactly what's going on "in their backyard."

Cons

The hours can be long because the news never stops. You will not get rich working for Patch, however, the pay is fair. Also, you have to be able to balance your time and getting the necessary work done - which can be hard for some - if they are not used to working from remote. There can be a learning curve for individuals who are not proficient/used to digital media or social media platforms or SEO. We all have to set quarterly goals that are "measurable." This can be challenging for editors who jump from location to location but managers realize that.
