Pros

Pathward as a company is honestly pretty great. They have a mission I believe in, and they generally take pretty good care of their employees. You usually get 2-4 extra PTO days a year, called "Wellness Days," that they announce a week or two ahead of time. The pay is good, and they are committed to a remote work environment, allowing them to recruit talent throughout the country.

Cons

The equipment finance department is an absolute disaster from top-to-bottom. There are no guidelines or policies, the reporting is a joke, and the leadership is nonexistent. Teams are always running on a skeleton crew, which leaves them overworked, stressed, and burnt out. If you can get in with Pathward, that is great, but avoid equipment finance (asset management, credit, operations-- all of it) at all costs. Also, I got pretty far into the interview process for a different job within the organization, and after the last interview, I never heard from them again. I personally think that is an unforgivable oversight in any scenario, but especially with an internal candidate.

Pros

Good Benefits Remote/Hybrid Work Great employees

Cons

Organization goes through a reorg about every 3-4 months. Company struggles to keep good talent. Solid DE&I team but slow progress as hiring managers are not committed to ensuring qualified minorities are hired let alone in positions of influence. Pay Equity - Compensation is significantly under industry standards. Organization struggling to determine their position in the Payments echosphere. Most people are overworked and mentally exhausted, teams are balancing heavy workloads and tight timelines. Minimal opportunities for advancement. Company politics are in heavy play, if you are part of the "club" you can do well. Employee engagement surveys are very telling but initiatives to address top concerns are often lost in the shuffle as a result of reorgs, lost talent, changes in direction. Annual employee performance is based on subjective feedback across peer groups vs key metrics. Differences in opinion/approach are not well received unless you are part of the club. Very little opportunities to work smart as organization lacks the technology and infrastructure to drive efficiency and automation. Various systems are out of date and dont talk to each other. Be prepared to leverage manual tracking mechanisms and make updates are several systems and spreadsheets. All reporting platforms have data integrity challenges due to outdated systems and disbandment of Reporting/IT teams years ago through another reorg. I could go on, no company is perfect but if you value working smart, growth opportunities and having your voice heard this is certainly not the place.
