Pros

The ONLY pro this company provides is actually having a job.

Cons

In the 8 months I worked there. We had 5 different store managers, each of whom had their own set of rules. One spent all of 15 minutes showing me how to run the cash register before leaving me alone on the salesfloor to go on vacation for a week. I worked there for FIVE MONTHS before I was actually given a work shirt, because corporate somehow shipped my shirts to Florida rather than Wisconsin (even though this company doesn't HAVE any stores in Florida). The current one insists on selling items at or above their new price, making my job much harder, as they don't allow discounts. Our online sales dept COSNTANTLY stole the easy to sell products out of the warehouse and refused to put them on the salesfloor. The returns policy changed according to the manager's mood that day. Our store required 16 people to run efficiently, and we never had more than 8-10 employees (Once getting down to just 5 employees for 2 weeks) the entire time I worked there, meaning I frequently worked 7:30am-9:30pm and the salesfloor was CLOSED on my lunch breaks. Our "breakroom" was nothing more than a table with a microwave and a fridge outside the main office. I once got punched in the face by a customer right front of the boss and she waited THREE FULL DAYS before asking me to fill out an accident report, saying only that "I was told by my boss that I'm gonna get in trouble if you don't fill this out!" I was regularly denied 15 minute breaks as well as bathroom breaks because I was the ONLY person employed there who was trained on the sales register. I had to teach my boss how to fill out a 4473 background check to return a gun to a customer (a skill I learned from a different pawn shop). I once earned top salesman for the entire company for the month of November 2020, and I was told by my boss, "Last year, this store did $30k more in sales for this month, you need to do better" despite the store having 3 salespeople the year prior an only ONE that year. All in all, PA is a complete joke after a company and the ONLY reason they are in business in Madison is because there aren't any decent alternatives in Madson.
