Pros

The pay could be worse I guess

Cons

- Dilbert principle is rife - Bloated, bureaucratic, and unprofitable, the company has failed to scale and is collapsing under its own weight

Thank you for leaving us a review, We value feedback even when it's hard to read. I'm sorry to hear you're having such a negative experience at Pax8. We have grown significantly over the last few years in terms of market share and global reach which has means we've needed to add processes and governance. I appreciate for some this can feel bureaucratic vs the start up phase but its a necessary evolution. As you've chosen to remain with us, it feels like there must be part of you that wants to be here for more than the "could be worse" pay. Please do reach out and speak to your people leader or POps Business Partner to see how we can improve things. We appreciate an open dialogue and opportunity to act on areas for improvement.

Pros

I truly believe Pax8 has a one-of-a-kind culture. I love everyone I work with and the community that has been built shines through when everyone is in-office during QBPs. It's a blast. I believe that Pax8 is an innovator in the channel space and will continue to be moving forward. They've proved this through recent channel events and a cult-like following from partners. Again, it's awesome. Pax8 has a great work/live balance. I feel like the unlimited PTO is a real thing. It's not just a scam to get people in the door. Never do I feel looked down on or shunned for taking PTO.

Cons

Pax8 is a very unique company in terms of the services they provide and how they operate, which creates a daunting task when it comes to developing a strong and efficient sales team. It genuinely is not an easy task when there are so many moving parts and things outside of their control. With that being said, Pax8 is at a point now where operational challenges absolutely have to get figured out...period. And it needs to happen quickly. Good talent will to start leaving in search of better opportunities. It has already started to happen. The job of the sales team is to bring more revenue into the organization. But that can be difficult when half of the job is spent figuring out what my current quota attainment is, dealing with vendor issues, or calming down frustrated partners because our processes are so jumbled. It's a pain that is felt by many. All startups (and all companies for that matter) will always have growing pains and issues, but this feels way more challenging than it needs to be, and it's dramatically hurting many individuals on the sales floor. Pay at Pax8 is quite low for the industry. An amazing culture does slightly make up for this, but when I can go make 30-40k elsewhere it becomes a hard thing to justify. This seems to be a constant theme in many other Glassdoor posts. Upper management continues to "work on" these issues, but often times it feels like we're being strung along.

Thank you for leaving such a detailed review and we are glad your overall experience with us is more positive than negative. That said, your constructive feedback is appreciated and has been shared with appropriate leadership. We are sorry to hear that you feel communication is not transparent and we are putting a stronger emphasis on this in 2024. Thanks again for leaving the review.

Pros

A great company that has cornered the market on cloud distribution solutions. Like a lot of organizations, there are some great people who work here.

Cons

Can honestly say that I have NEVER been treated with such vicious cruelty by a company in all my life! I was so happy and excited to go to work for Pax8, went into this job eyes wide open, soaking up what I was learning like a sponge. I showed up on time, payed attention in training, was told I was doing a great job. Three weeks into training, WHAM! I am told I’m being terminated? No warning, no real explanation, other than the trainers (the same ones who were oh-so-supportive), are apparently wolves in sheep’s clothing. The “People Ops” team (fancy word for HR) told me they really couldn’t give me any additional information, but I was welcome to apply for another position. Really? Why? So you can sucker punch and backstab me all over again? I left a job to take this job and my livelihood was ripped right out from under me, three weeks into training? Don’t believe the platitude about how Pax8’s people are it’s greatest resource. Trust me, you’re really just a number.
