Pros

The company culture is fantastic: there is an on-site movie theater, garage (with bar/pool/fuseball), and lots of after work activities. The company itself is like a family and offers a lot of opportunity to learn about a burgeoning industry.

Cons

The company is undergoing growing pains as it transitions into a bigger company. It's taking steps to preserve it's tech culture while also becoming a corporate entity.

Pros

the product is ok but thats about it.

Cons

I recently had the unfortunate experience of working for Payjunction, and I must say it was nothing short of disappointing. The company claims to be a cool software company, but in reality, it's just another credit card processing company with a knack for taking advantage of its employees. One of the most frustrating aspects of my time with Payjunction was the constant change in direction. It felt like the company couldn't make up its mind, with shifts in strategy occurring multiple times per year. This lack of stability left employees feeling uncertain and constantly on edge, unsure of what to expect next. The president's habit of changing the bonus plan regularly only added to the frustration. It seemed like every time we started to understand the compensation structure, it would be altered again. This constant tinkering made it nearly impossible to plan for the future or set realistic financial goals. It left me, and many other sales reps, feeling like mere disposable numbers rather than valued contributors to the company's success. Moreover, despite Payjunction's attempt to portray itself as a modern and innovative software company, the reality is that it's just another player in the credit card processing industry. The initial allure of working for a tech-savvy company quickly faded as I realized the core of the business was centered around the mundane world of credit card transactions. For anyone considering a career in sales, I strongly advise against choosing Payjunction. There are countless other credit card processing companies out there that offer better compensation, stability, and a more honest work environment. Don't be swayed by the facade of a cool software company – the reality at Payjunction is far from it. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment, and seek opportunities where your efforts will be genuinely valued.

Really awful pay

Pros

-good snacks -good location -decent training and support -I really liked my manager (technically the assistant manager because the actual manager quit - but they never moved the assistant to manager from what I heard and then they outsourced someone to take the manager role even though the assistant had be doing the role for over 6months 🤷🏼‍♂️)

Cons

Incredibly low pay. Not a liveable wage at all and especially not for Santa Barbara. They set very unrealistic expectations for the team and micromanaged a lot. They won’t tell you this but there is a lot of turnover in this role. I saw at least 6 people get hired and then quit within a month of working there. I think it’s because they didn’t train those people well and then had crazy high expectations for them. Instead of raising our pay they made us play little scrabble games to incentivize us to work more - I never got close to winning these games and I was a top performer for a while lol. They hired some new directors who im sure are getting paid $100k+ and also they decided to remodel the office that barely anyone went to because it was hybrid (???!!). All I’m saying is come on guys pay your employees more and stop holding things over their heads like the elusive ~ new leads ~ or the even more elusive ~promotion~. I’m not saying “don’t work for this company” but I am saying “don’t overwork yourself for a company that truly does not care about you”. This would be a good job if you really need some extra cash or health insurance while you’re in between jobs but definitely no career here - at least not from this role anymore (there are definitely people who started in this role and climbed the latter - they are rockstars but also total outliers!)
