Leadership can be difficult depending on department. Plenty of leaders who have been there a long time, who should not still be there. Promote from within which is great, providing the person was promoted for the right reasons. Decisions made years ago seem to come back to bite them. Leaders with little or no experience in the department they are managing.

Sometimes the efforts to show appreciation fall short or don't seem genuine. Pay is low for what is required in certain departments. The biggest pain point for me was the internal hiring process. It is very confusing and difficult when attempting to advance within. I earned three promotions but eventually hit a wall because I do not have a degree yet. There are several employees who are more qualified for a certain position that do not have degrees that don't even receive an opportunity to interview. It became extremely frustrating.
