Pros

Innovative, growth and initiative focused. Challenging and rewarding opportunities for personal and professional development.

Cons

Since the split from eBay, becoming more bureaucratic and political similar to a banking culture. Losing the lean, startup, innovative qualities that once made it a fantastic place to work

I appreciate your feedback and insights on your experience working at PayPal. I’ve been at the company for over 4 years and share your perspectives around the great things about being here; it’s a vibrant culture with lots of innovation and opportunities. I’m sorry to hear that you feel the culture is becoming more bureaucratic as that is not a tenant in the culture we are working to build as an independent company. As we grow into our vision to democratize money for all people, not just the affluent, we’re seeking new ways to provide access and participation in the financial system. With that vision comes more regulation and compliance; a necessary part of the ecosystem. We will continue to be a customer champion company focused on delivering customer centric fintech products for our customers.

Pros

Strong global brand name, collaborative working level folks. Lots of smart people (sometimes too smart) who want to make a difference Competitive pay and good work/life balance

Cons

Very San Jose-centric and US biased, despite global business structure. Centralized product structure makes it challenging to roll things out in the regions. Too many leadership changes which can be quite messy, weak APAC HR processes

We appreciate you taking time to provide us with your feedback. And I do agree with you that PayPal has a strong global brand name and a great team of good talents who wants to make a difference with the company’s vision of democratizing money for everyone, not just the affluent. That takes a lot of grit and focus. PayPal is definitely on the journey of expansion to new markets and be the partner that connects merchants and consumers alike around the world other than our largest market in the US. We’ve heard your feedback and shared this back with the team.
