Pros

PayPal treats its employees really well. Most of the folks I see around are decent individuals and very accommodative. The culture promotes basic good behavior when interacting with others. The benefits and salary are much better than most other competitors. If you are in a good org there are opportunities to do decent amount of good amount of technical work.

Cons

The competition at PayPal is a bit unhealthy. There are certain cliques where they wont let you move up despite good work. Typical the modus operandi for that is to starve you from good work/projects and not let you succeed. You need to be politically savvy to change into a group that promotes good value oriented approach while giving promotions. In general going up in the game of thrones is not just a function of your skills and value but mostly your political acumen. Those who just do their job but do not spend time or do not have the org support to market their work will not receive kudos for their work. In general it's hard to find a win win situation to add value and succeed in your individual career.

Pros

Good interesting place to work. Get to do interesting things for your customer. Excellent promising future with eBay getting off its shoulders. Great leader on board, hope he takes care of cons below.

Cons

Splendid political environment, if you are not on "the people side" you don't exist No WLB No learning environment. Managers care about their scores rather than people. Do anything to keep a good number.

Pros

Higher then normal salaries because they need to bribe people to work there. You can leave when you want, nothing holds you back from leaving early, except your 27 meeting a day. You get to do some free traveling on the company dime, and you can expense anything even strippers. You might find some good dudes in the weeds, but that's about it.

Cons

You will get no time off, horrible vacation policy. You have to work with a bunch of people that think they are amazing, too many egos. The food sucks its all chemically processed food that comes in plastic bags, even the vegetables. You will sit in 27 meetings a day listening to people argue about features or process because everyone knows everything and nobody can be wrong. It really is a bunch of smart people doing nothing, they love to hear their own voice, its a sad story.
