Pros

- It's a job that pays money - As with any job that pays money there are nice people that are also stuck doing the same

Cons

- non-stop org changes (i've been through 7 managers in 4 years) - mandatory on-call - no direction (other than obsessive AI hawking in recent months) - no answer for the looming competition of Apple Pay - no-one has bandwidth for any ACTUAL innovation and improvements - you might spend months to a year working on a product just for the company to buy a third-party solution with a weaker implementation, just so some middle manager can justify their job - no respect for employees' time - no long term rewards - forced RTO 3-days a week (i was hired 100% remote initially)

Toxic work culture permeated by leadership

Pros

Leading edge fin tech and exposed to great technology and initiatives. Brand makes it easier to open doors to prospective merchants and partners, but you still need to deliver. Solid balance sheet.

Cons

New leaders from McKinsey, Goldman have ruined the culture created by the previous CEO. Micromanaging and cover your but is the prevailing leadership credo. You can perform at or above target but if your leadership doesn't like you they will impose a performance improvement plan process with no real opportunities to address. Leadership not open to feedback nor new ideas, just do what I tell you.

Pros

- Competitive compensation structure with commission potential - Interesting client portfolio - Strong product offerings and market position - Some supportive colleagues across the organization

Cons

- Lack of transparent performance management - No progressive discipline - straight to Performance Improvement Plan with no prior feedback - Management gives positive feedback while simultaneously evaluating performance negatively - Poor communication from leadership during critical career moments - Unclear commission payment structure and timing - Terminations with no clear explanation
