Pros

Great benefits, professional company culture, excellent sales training (Top 125 in U.S.), Work vs. life balance pretty good, great company to start sales career and move on in 1-3 years, Great reputation in the industry

Cons

Base pay for territory sales rep $38K (I started in 2011 with Paychex, made this base 9 years ago with another Fortune 500 company), Commissions can vary greatly depending upon performance, Very demanding job and huge learning curve, You have to bust your butt to make $75K (Conference level), reality is about $50-$65K (and this won't come easy the 1st year)

Temp to Hire

Pros

Great starting place for a career. I was hired through a temp agency and worked hard and got hired full-time. The clout of working at Paychex is pretty big in Rochester, NY (makes you feel good when you tell people you work there) Benefits are decent, but they are a lot lower than they were a decase or two ago.

Cons

The pay is very very low for entry personell along with supervisors. Not until you get to middle management and above do you get a decent pay. The stock options are worth nothing. The only thing you get with the low-pay is the fact that when you tell peole you work at Paychex it sounds good. Too bad they don't realize you make only 30K

Pros

Paychex has a bright future when the economy rebounds. My co-workers were great and Paychex offered good benefits.

Cons

Too much change for the sake of change - managers (especially those new to Paychex) should listen before they make changes.
