paychex lost its reputation after covid, management changed for the worst, bankers and cpas hate the name cause the company messed up a lot during covid and frustrated their clients. Very difficult to build relationships, partners want nothing to do with you

The sales team is dead set on self destructing. Paychex has the business it needs to thrive post pandemic. Its no longer focused on going up market or direct for new business. COVID taught them they are saving so much on lease space etc that they do not need to sell their product in this competitive space. All they need to do is keep client retention numbers high and add the OCCASIONAL new client. This is reflected in the culture, THE PAY, and the advancement opportunity meaning NONE. From a Saas sales perspective, THIS IS A DEAD END.
