Pros

For managers and up they give bonuses, stock, and unlimited PTO

Cons

The divisions are becoming "centralized"; which means leadership oversees areas they know little to nothing about. Make changes to better the company, without regard to payroll/ tax/benefit regulations. When an EE brings issues to managers they don't want to hear, the EE is labeled a problem and transferred/termed so manager can sweep issue under rug or play blame-game. Managers use WFH as a way to make employees work all the time 24/7. I was actually told I was wasn't going to meet expectations if I didn't respond within a couple hrs to emails (sent after 5 &/or on weekends!!) During COVID they did "force reduction" to get rid of people, then strategically replaced them. Terrible company!!

Pros

Good First Entry-Level Job for Young People

Cons

What was discussed in interview didn't match with actual job. The interviewers made it sound like we would have robust and meaningful discussions with participants on saving for retirement, actual role turns out to be more data-entry related and generally aren't allowed to discuss much of anything with participants. Company culture also felt misleading during the interview process. The managers are very well dressed, professional, and polished; giving the impression that the team would also be this way. Well, upon being hired and seeing the team I'd be working with, the co-workers are too casual, no real dress code, felt really unprofessional at times. Wish I was given a tour of the department I'd be working in during my interview, if so, I never would have taken the job! This role is good for someone young, who's just starting out, but if you have experience working at big financial firms in conservative professional environments, you'll feel mismatched at Paychex. Its like going from a 5-Star Restaurant to a Diner.

Most of our offices are home to different teams - some client facing, and some not - that have differences in dress code. When it is safe to do so, we welcome all candidates to take a tour of our offices as part of their interview process or check out our company profile at payx.me/themuse to get a glimpse inside some of our offices (including Phoenix). Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
