Pros

Since joining this company, I have not only been promoted twice in 2 years - I have doubled my salary since starting in that time. I have had the opportunity to travel the country with Paychex and make life long friends. This is a place of career growth and opportunity.

Cons

Only downside is all of your family members will ask you to give them a raise (even if you don’t process payroll) because they think it’s a good joke lol

Pros

-Great Commission Structure -Internal Partnerships -Impeccable Training -Animated and Helpful Management -Big emphasis on team building -GREAT Benefits -School Tuition Reimbursment -Company evolves and pivots to stay ahead in the market. -Partners with a great Digital Marketing company that gives you a big advantage over competition. -Paychex is a one stop shop for just about everything HCM, and a little more.

Cons

Some of these cons are mostly particular to the Salt Lake Office: -The SLC Branch has a history of terrible performance and management. So much so that the Accounting and Banking community lost a lot of trust in Paychex. Even those who referred their clients to Paychex for years. Now with new management, that is changing. Slowly but surely. I’m General: - Culture is strong, but the company’s structure is very mechanical. Not bad unless you’re coming from more of an organic structured company. -Base pay is super low for the amount of work it takes to start seeing the fruits of your labor.

Pros

I found it very east to get a job at this company. I had move to the Rochester area and within a week was able to start working. The best pro to working at Paychex is that once you are employed by the company, after your first year, it is fairly easy to transfer to a department more to your liking. Many people I worked with in the COBRA team have since moved on to different departments more suited to their ideal career paths. They love to promote/hire internally.

Cons

The primary focus of the company is their sales team. If you do not wish to do insurance sales, you will quickly realize the service teams are underpaid and spread thin. I am a part of the COBRA team which is already a hard topic to begin with as most of the customers I help have been recently terminated from their jobs. Since COBRA isn't a major money maker for the company we are often last on the list for updates to our systems. They are out of date and we still require people to mail in checks and even though we have the ability, we will not accept them over the phone unless there is a serious medical emergency. It often takes us a minimum of two weeks to get coverage activated.
