You must be dedicated to putting Paycom first in your life the majority of the time. In my role, you are accessible most of your day, and to get it all done, you’ll be on a laptop many evenings or early mornings. Leaders really promote using your vacation and work-life balance, but that doesn’t change the work and what has to be done, so do double work preparing to be off or after you return. The good part of that is you are getting things done and done fast, but not everyone here that you have to rely on to get your job done works at that pace or has the training and knowledge to perform their job well. Improving this will make a major impact on life balance. Certain departments promote people before they’ve mastered the job because they display good “leadership” skills, but then they aren’t capable enough to fully support their subordinates, and because of growth there are many new employees who don’t know the system, and the internal processes (which need internal technology to improve) and that’s extremely important in supporting our customers.
