This is my first day at Paycom, and all the reviews I researched before applying are true! This is a work hard- play hard environment, and Paycom truly takes care of its employees! Our benefits package is amazing, and there are $4 catered lunches every day- can't beat that! It's only day 1, but my expectations are already blown away! So excited to make this place my home!

Decent base salary. Co-workers.

Cons

You won't have a life. Period. They will expect you to eat, drink, and speak Paycom 24/7 (drink the Paycom koolaid). If you have friends, a family, hobbies, or general activities outside of work, this is NOT the job for you. This is an extremely corporate job where "Paycom standards" have to be met on a weekly basis or you'll get written up/fired. Micromanagement is so unbelievable you'll think you're in preschool again. If you're a seasoned professional with sales experience, your head will spin in disbelief and amazement. Don't be fooled by the awesome "culture" they promote. Expect to be working 70-80 hour work weeks with 5 days off TOTAL a year (I'm serious). There is no cushion for "off days" and you'll expect to be in constant contact with your Manager e.g. "send me a picture of where you are?" There is absolutely ZERO trust in your abilities and are constantly under the microscope. Local management is so fake and superficial it's unreal. Look elsewhere unless you're desperate...

Sales representative roles are fast-paced and require cooperation with management. We clearly outline expectations, the effort required and what it takes to be successful during the interviewing process. Our employees receive a combination of PTO, sick leave, personal days and company holidays within their first year – far surpassing the “5 days off total” you describe. Our goal is to work closely with new sales representatives so they are supported and receive continuous coaching. We want our employees to be successful in whatever role they serve at the company. Paycom seeks candidates from a variety of sources, including universities, and we believe the new graduates we hire have a tremendous opportunity to learn and grow in their career here. If you love mastering your craft and developing skills you can use in any role at Paycom or otherwise, ignore the cynical reviews and go for it! The company is not going to settle for mediocrity. If you want fluff and sunshine and weak leadership that leads you on but doesn't LEAD you, look elsewhere. You will earn what I call a "Paycom MBA." Even if you have one already, this experience is like none other. Not only will you receive job knowledge, training and skill development (unless you blatantly ignore a mountain of incredible resources right in front of you), you will work with inspiring people who will not only become your friends, but excellent mentors for your WHOLE life. Work is life. And it's a great life working at Paycom.

Not enough hours in the day to get my hands on all the projects I'm able to contribute to just by asking or simply doing.
