Pros

Since they are legally required to pay payroll onetime and since they are a payroll software company, they do pay promptly and on time

Cons

This company caused me unique pain & suffering. Middle management is evil and will basically fire someone if they do not like their haircut. Do not take a job at this organization unless you are prepped to see your mental health drop & really need liquidity.

Pros

- Great benefits - Competitive pay (especially for OKC area) - Excellent stock bonuses for developers

Cons

- Constant changes in work responsibilities and employee policies. They are having a hard time settling on what Dev/QA/Product should be doing, and each month is bringing new "updates" on what job responsibilities are. They seem to be intent on re-capturing the stock price boom of 2020-21, and think they need to keep changing things until that happens again. - Potential for long hours (or impromptu "we need to work through the weekend" moments). This is very dependent on the module you work in, so hope for good module placement. - Outdated tech stack. The UI has been transitioning over to React, but the majority of work done is within a custom PHP framework - Most of the things you work on are custom to Paycom, and don't build very transferable skills to new positions in the future (custom PHP framework, self-hosted instead of cloud infrastructure, very little microservices architecture)

Pros

Pay is pretty much median for tech. Benefits are ok. Coworkers are nice.

Cons

Where to begin, there is no senior leadership here at all, it’s all college kids. No senior dev would ever come here because they see through the trash, so thats why they prey on college grads. Your leader is probably going to be the same age or younger than you. It shines light on the volatility of this company. Everyone runs around like a chicken with their head cut off, code is a disaster, upper management is clueless to software and treat employees like cheap labor. They will lead you on to career prospects, then through sheer evil at the last minute ditch you. Employees feed into this out of fear of being fired so you can’t blame them as they are just trying to support their families. New leadership is creepy and extremely unqualified, I have no idea how they even got to c-suite. I would only recommend here if you have no options, which is the majority of people that return because we all know what this company is about. They create an illusion of false reality that you soon figure out once you have witnessed it internally. I would take a job anywhere else because this companies reputation is going to get really bad over the next few years.
