Pros

Pay is not bad Other college grads as coworkers can help you make friends

Cons

Just very traditional, enforces a lot of arbitrary policies on you like RTO, regular badge-in times. Your Team Lead and even Manager many times don't have control over your employment, more so by leadership which seems bent on squeezing as much work out of you as possible.

Pros

Known as one of the highest-paying pure tech companies in the state. Benefits are incredible, and they perks are cool. Software engineers: ~$100k+ Senior developers/architects: $120k–$150k+

Cons

Working at Paycom can be really frustrating, and honestly it feels like the company expects way too much out of employees. The workload is constant and the pressure to hit metrics never really stops, which makes it feel like you’re always being watched and judged on performance. Management tends to micromanage a lot of things, so it doesn’t feel like there’s much trust in employees to just do their jobs. The hours can get long, and it’s tough to maintain any real work-life balance because the expectations keep piling up. On top of that, it sometimes feels like job security depends entirely on whether you’re hitting numbers at that exact moment, which creates a stressful environment where people worry about being replaced or let go. While the pay might be decent compared to other companies in Oklahoma, the stress and pressure can make it hard to feel like it’s worth it, and it’s one of the reasons a lot of people don’t stay here long. Thats if they have the choice to stay...

We recognize that managing expectations, metrics and day to day responsibilities can be challenging to navigate. Leaders are responsible for providing clarity around priorities, ensuring teams have the tools and resources needed to do their work effectively, and balancing oversight with the ability for individuals to operate with autonomy and ownership in their roles. Our goal is to maintain an environment where expectations are well defined, performance is evaluated consistently and teams are equipped to meet those expectations without unnecessary friction. We continue to focus on alignment between leadership and teams to support sustainable performance within our high-accountability workplace. We strongly encourage you to initiate a conversation with your leader and discuss your feedback.
