Pros

Remote work and generous PTO of 176 hours to use which at this job, they don't pay you out your PTO so just be aware and the remote work isn't worth working for this company.

Cons

Where do I even begin... Listen the recruiters will say that people only write negative reviews about Glassdoor like Yelp for resturants but that's a lie because I have written plenty of nice reviews for GOOD companies who care about their employees. Paycor is a true nightmare, and they just want you to be a sleezy used car salesman or telemarketer at this point. Which may work for some if you have no soul. No sales process, methodology, or structure in place—you’re left to figure everything out on your own. You’re required to clock in and out like an hourly employee, even in a full-time salaried sales role. The company operates in a highly oversaturated market, making it difficult to differentiate or sell value. Leadership does not value feedback from reps and ignores insights from those on the front lines. Significant cost-cutting measures after the acquisition, including removing basic sales tools like HubSpot CRM. As of now, there is no reliable CRM system in place, and reps are expected to manage accounts manually or in spreadsheets. No clear enablement, onboarding, or support—new hires are given vague direction and thrown into a chaotic workflow. Morale is low across the sales floor due to constant changes, lack of transparency, and unrealistic expectations. Internal communication is poor, and decisions are often made behind closed doors without context or explanation. High turnover rate, with top reps and managers leaving due to burnout and frustration.

Paychex vs. Paycor Culture Wars

Pros

The pay, benefits and virtual first environment are great and my immediate team is wonderful.

Cons

Paychex said they acquired us because they admired our culture. So why they trying to change it? We're not all a bunch of white guys in suits and we sure don't need monitoring software installed on our laptops. If they don't loosen up I think a lot of the top folks will leave.
