Pros

If a few things changed and I could I would go back. If you love shoes, helping people and keeping things organized you will like this job. Its really not complicated, since its basically just shoe boxes its not hard to stock and keep the store clean. When it comes to shipment and pricing its a bit of hard work sometimes but usually easy. You can get good deals on shoes because of the discount, and learning which sales are actually the best deals.

Cons

If you live in a small town you are only going to have about 3 other coworkers, Which means if you need a certain day off, get sick, or aren't pulling your weight its going to affect everyone else. Theft will be impossible to "prevent" because you will be working alone a lot and without giving to much away, there aren't many other security measures being used. People will walk out wearing new shoes so you have to watch them. You will get blamed for pilferage your fault or not. Don't bother reporting people for breaking rules if that store seems desperate to keep employees because all you will do is create enemies. If you are interested in becoming a manager one day keep it a secret or your manager will secretly try to run you off.

Pros

If you're lucky, you'll make friends with some (not all) of your co-workers.

Cons

Under paid for the amount work that you do. The store is often understaffed but management expects you to do the job of 3 people, even when you're all alone. Management asks you to clock out early during your shift, so you end up doing work without getting paid. Depending on your store manager, they will ask you to cut your breaks short. There isn't any work culture.
