      Great place to work, the pros exceed the cons

      Pros

      -Flexibility with scheduling and availability -Flexibility with days needed off -Manager works with you well (compliments, help, etc) -Friendly staff

      Cons

      -Low pay for sales associates, usually just minimum wage -Loose return policy attracts a lot of returns/exchanges from customers; some customers hard to deal with

      Pros

      Job security. If you do your work you are pretty much guaranteed a job in the future. And at a time when finding a job is difficult... this is a definite plus.

      Cons

      Payless wants you to be consumed by them at all times. If you are sick... too bad. If you have a vacation planned you had better let them know months in advance and you should probably leave town if you are management level, as I am, to make sure you ACTUALLY get a vacation. They are very demanding of your time on all levels: from the part time associate who goes to school full time and has a family to the manager who is running TWO stores for the company on a ONE store manager salary.

      Pros

      Provides great part time hours. Great manager in Red Deer, AB. All of the people I met there were very friendly and we have maintained friendships even after I left.

      Cons

      The customer journey is a bit much. I felt like following it was harrassing customers. I realize employees need to pay attention to customers and offer assistance but if they say they don't need help then there is no reason to keep on bothering them.
