If you're in Boise, don't start working here.

Pros

Benefits and I love my coworkers, they will be life long friends.

Cons

At this point, there are too many Cons, I'm not even sure where to begin. The Boise office is going downhill, and I mean downhill fast. We have 0 leadership here, 0 plan for success, 0 plan to make our jobs less painful. I have never seen more people quit from a company than I have in the last 5 months here. Anytime management is asked what our plan of attack is since everybody is drowning in work, they just shrug their shoulders and say "we will stick together and get through it." That's not not enough. This office is a mess and I do not recommend anyone wasting their time. Find a better job, with better pay and better leadership. Nobody around here knows how to run a business. Not only that, but things are getting so bad that account managers are being forced to take OT to get work done because it is not possible to do the work within a 40 hour week. We cannot support the clients we have in this office and with at least one person leaving a week, this office will surely be empty in a matter of months. The stress and frustration is not worth it.

Our Boise office has grown to over 140 employees in 18 months! We continue to hire and we have several initiatives in place to help our employees learn and grow. I’m sorry things didn’t work out for you at Paylocity. Thank you for the feedback and we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

Fresh Fruit in breakroom, PTO, no weekends lots of opportunity for OT and company events are nice.

Cons

No opportunity for advancement as company continues to hire employee's from outside of the organization instead of promoting from within. When employee's want to leave the department they make it very hard and make excuses and false promises. Training is very poor. To become an AM III what they call a "promotion" is something you are already doing you actually have to write a paragraph (essay) to become a mentor for newbies which i find ridiculous as you are already doing this job by being a team player. They also hire managers that have no clue what they are doing with no payroll experience and managers with no management experience who treat people with no respect, and HR is useless. If I could quit I would but a paycheck is needed. right now we just need to tough it out. PTO managers tell you how to use it? insane, they care m ore about their clients instead of their employee's. They never stand behind us and support us. They enjoy pointing out our flaws and act like if they are perfect. But Here we are doing the hardest job.

Pros

Unfortunately very few to share for the accounting/ finance department.

Cons

Accounting/ finance department is a boys club plain and simple. If you are a female or a man that might not be cool enough for the club, you might want to consider looking elsewhere. There is an utter lack of engagement and development for those that are not among the elect. I left the company in May and have heard several others have followed suit, including the only female director in the department. She was the only director (also only female) excluded from the 'finance strategy meeting' aka golf outing for boys club on the company. Is that even legal?? The boys club gets annual promotions and pay raises. Everyone else.. not so much.
