Pros

Flexibility being in sales and working from home, great commission structure and great benefits.

Cons

PCTY once truly listened to its employees and valued their feedback. Unfortunately, the company has shifted and now feels no different from the competitors we used to pride ourselves on outperforming in both service and technology. Several recent management changes have moved the organization in a direction we always said we would never take. I left Paylocity on a high note after achieving President’s Circle for 11 consecutive years. I still believe in the technology, but the current executive leadership has created an environment that is driving top performers away. The internal conflict and lack of support have become increasingly difficult to ignore. It’s disheartening to see an organization once led with such vision transform into a workplace that feels toxic. The first eight years of my career at Paylocity were life-changing. However, over the past three years, the company has revealed a different side…..one that no longer prioritizes the account managers and teams who make implementation and service possible, nor does it demonstrate the same level of care for its people. Writing this is difficult, especially as a shareholder, but I ultimately chose to leave because the company I dedicated so much of myself to stopped valuing its employees. Paylocity was once ahead of the curve; today, it has fallen behind it.

Your feedback matters, and we hear the concerns you’ve raised about leadership changes and the importance of staying true to the culture that makes Paylocity special. Listening to our employees is something we care deeply about. For current employees, the Employee Voice survey is one of the key ways we gather feedback to help guide decisions and improve the employee experience. Insights like yours, past and present, are invaluable as we work to align our actions with our values and continue building a workplace where everyone feels supported and heard. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts and for everything you accomplished during your tenure. We wish you nothing but success in your next chapter. Pros

-- Highly skilled and dedicated colleagues who remain committed to delivering quality work. -- Continued flexibility with remote work arrangements. (for now) -- Some legacy teams still demonstrate strong collaboration and domain expertise.

Cons

-- The culture within P&T has shifted significantly post-COVID, coinciding with an influx of external technology leadership. The new emphasis on metrics and rigid processes has constrained innovation and reduced team autonomy. -- Recent leadership changes have introduced frequent organizational and technical disruptions, often driven by a desire to “modernize” without a meaningful understanding of the complexity or interdependencies of core systems. -- The PMO operates largely in isolation from delivery realities, resulting in misaligned priorities, unrealistic planning, and ongoing disruption to established roadmaps. -- Employee benefits have eroded—RSU allocations and other incentives have been reduced. The introduction of “unlimited PTO” to some roles appears more symbolic than practical, given the current lack of cultural trust that employees can take time off without negative repercussions. -- The recent hiring trend of developers and testers from Mexico seems primarily cost-driven, with limited evidence of a cohesive integration strategy or long-term workforce development plan.

Pros

Free unhealthy food on Thursdays? Majority of non nutritious snacks?

Cons

Work load is insane! I’ve been working 10 -11 hours a day since October (we are almost in April) no life work balance. Most of the team scramble to get answers to you as most of them don’t know the product and process well. Most people have been in here for over 3 years. I’m overworked underpaid and burned out. The monthly and quarter meetings with executives are a joke and embarrassing. Not sure how they can put a straight face after having us slaving. I am actively looking to get out of here!
