Pros

Remote life and insurance benefits

Cons

I have tried to discuss my Neurodivergence issues with my leaders and HR. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM WHEN THEY SAY THEY WILL WORK WITH YOU. I submitted accommodations several years ago and they said they couldn’t make a couple simple changes. Didn’t offer any other solutions other than talk to manager. Talked to manager and had an “understanding” but nothing was written down. Manager is gone. Decided to submit again with a couple changes and HR asked “why the sudden need for accommodations” as well as “What made you get diagnosed now”. They asked this even though I stayed in writing I had previously requested accommodations. Since HR was no help, I tried to talk to current management. They disregarded it and refuse to discuss it. When I try to explain that the way I ask questions or perform a task is the result of neurological disorder, they simply say I’m being defensive and I should just agree to do it their way. That is what they call coaching by the way. The company use to train people. Use to praise their employees. Unless you’re a “friend of management” you are forgotten unless you make a mistake. Now that the economy has slowed down for them, they are grinding hard on longer term people. If you are someone that has a hidden disability, avoid Paylocity. They will say the right things, but their actions won’t support it. I’ve talk to HR and HR managers. Talked to my manager and their manager. They have done everything they can to not acknowledge any mental health issues. During Mental Health Month they have a couple company “speakers” talk. Yet the company does nothing to invest in their own employees mental health.

Uneasy about the future

Pros

Good coworkers , good middle management.

Cons

New management doesn't care to learn principles and have positions that where they don't necessarily know anything about the work. They can be harsh at times and this never used to be the case. Salary and benefits aren't competitive at all and the culture used to help bridge that. Now that most are remote, it's starting to feel like just another job. Large workloads and constant emergencies.

Pros

The company truly does value work/life balance. If you are just starting a career or are in your early career years, Paylocity is definitely the best place for you to be. Lots of swag - if you like jackets, sweatshirts and cups this is your place to be!

Cons

If you are a seasoned professional, working at Paylocity is insulting to say the least. Leadership has no way to mentor you because they lack in the experience or qualifications to help you grow. You are not acknowledged for the work in which you were hired for. You are merited and promoted based on the “extras” (such as learning something completely out of your realm of expertise). You cannot just be great at your own job! The pay is not competitive for those who bring years of experience and is truly only meant for people in their early career.
