Pros

good benefits, nice co-workers, great vision

Cons

poor working environment, poor staffing, very stressful and not support from administration, the vision is far removed from the day to day practice especially in regards to interaction between management and staff. There seems to be little if any concern for the employees.

Ok, but not the best

Pros

While a lot of the employees (caregivers) are overworked and tired, they don't let it show. The people who work on the front lines are really good about keeping the patients front and center. It was also nice to work for an organization that seemed to have their mission and values in front of them at all times as a guide.

Cons

Way too much turnover in senior leadership. They try to make it sound like they all chose to quit at once, but no one buys that. The COO, Beth O'Brien, has brought in a huge number of consultants to run the hospitals and clinic operations which results in a lack of culture. They are there for the short term to make changes happen, and then will be gone. They are good at what they are there for, but it's like the place was acquired by another company who dropped their people in to take over.

Depends on the department

Pros

PeaceHealth can be a good place to work. Their focus for everyone is to be caring and considerate.

Cons

I worked at the Shared Services Center not everybody who works there follows that caring vision. There are managers there that are just the opposite. I worked in the facilities department and my manager was the biggest capital "B" ever. She was incompetent in her job and often threw other people under the bus to save face. I think she was related to someone with power because, first of all, she did not have a 4 year degree that is required of managers at PH, secondly she had no facilities experience and did not know what the "H" she was doing. Don't apply for any job in facilities at the Shared Services Center!
