Pros

Pay and benefits are the only pros that come to mind. I would recommend that you network with employees on LinkedIn prior to thinking about working at Mednax/American Anesthesiology.

Cons

Where to start: Management is terrible from the executive to middle management levels. Leadership promotes a hostile environment; employees are threaten with the jobs daily. There are no clear goals or direction. Management brags about holding employees livelihood in the palm of their hands. This behavior is justified by the statement, "It's the Mednax culture."

Pros

Get paid every 2 weeks. Great healthcare and PTO time.

Cons

It's like working for Mad Men. The culture hasn't changed since the 70's. Admins fetching coffee and ordering personal lunches every day. In order to set up a meeting you have to contact the admin first, before sending the outlook invite. Doesn't that defy the purpose of using Outlook? There are no perks to working here. Nothing. Other companies have free breakfast or lunch once a week/month, food trucks, game rooms, team building activities, holiday parties/picnics, catered lunches. The most fun thing I've done here in over 6 months was the blood drive when I received swag from them, which I could've done in a parking lot at the mall. NOTHING has been done for Bahama victims. They preach about taking care of the patients but don't look outside their bottom line. Give higher ups raises upwards of 18% but the peons get 3-5%.

Pediatrix Medical Group Response

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. When decisions are made at the top many factors come into play. One of them is the way it will impact all of our employees. We often have to make long term business decisions that could have negative implications in the short term. If you bear with us during this time of change, I believe that our whole company will feel positive impact. We have an exciting employee discount and perks rolling out soon to all employees and have a fundraiser for the Bahamas.
