Pros

You’ll find a handful of true professionals with good intentions.

Cons

Executive leadership is like a mafia. They don’t allow any progress. Leadership is disrespectful and condescending. They undermind and micro manage causing a lot of damage to the morale and progression of the organization. It is a shame to see the poor leadership of so many years continue to hurt the career of those who bring experience and dedication. The bullying is a problem. Dr Medel should regain control but he is out numbered, overpowered and to burned out to make a change at this point.

Pros

Benefits, PTO. Nothing more than this.

Cons

I should've done my research on this company prior to quickly accepting an offer. Upper management seem to have your best interest at first but once the honeymoon phase is over it's a disaster. There's lack of training and no form of teamwork. Management is quick to throw you under the bus and not make themselves accountable for their own mistakes. I've witnessed this through my manager's interactions with other departments and outside vendors. Very condescending, vindictive, quick to point out that you are incompetent when you really are not, bullying... I was told many times by the managers that unfortunately this is part of the culture???? All these are against my values. In addition, there are no advancement opportunities although I was told that there would be. A lot of work for the pay. I definitely did learn from this experience to not be so quick to jump at every opportunity given to me without researching, reading reviews, etc.

Pros

Some caring leadership.

Cons

There are many. I worked for Mednax for over 10 years. Up until about 4 years ago, the company was amazing, vibrant, and a true community. That is now all gone. The talented, caring executives that used to be there, were replace by inept, backstabbing, finger-pointing opportunists. Bad business decisions were made, and a once harmonious environment turned into a feeding frenzy. Company improvement strategies were introduced, but never implemented. For example, a few years ago, the company paid to have all its management attend a workshop. We spent an entire day developing improvement initiatives that were going to be implemented. However after the seminar was over, nothing was ever mentioned about it again. NOTHING. Over the years, I can remember at least 5 initiatives, with no follow through. Much is discussed, however very little is done. There is currently a massive exodus of talented, tenured employees. This is because after years of ardent work attempting to restore the company to greatness, we have realized our effort is fruitless with the current roster of top executives. Mednax is a business case how poor leadership and business decision can ruin a company. Prospective employees - Beware! If you need a job and can only get one at Mednax, then by all means, work there. However DO NOT leave any halfway decent company to join Mednax. It would most certainly be a step back in any career path.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. When decisions are made at the top many factors come into play. One of them is the way it will impact all of our employees. We often have to make long term business decisions that could have negative implications in the short term.
