Cons

Everything else: Last two years have been nothing but overtime and lack of retention with no backfilling of positions. Will lie to get you in the door. Think they've said the four ten hour days or the four ten hour days and a four hour day thing for years at this point. NO SECOND/THIRD SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL WHEN EVERY OTHER EMPLOYER IN TOWN HAS ONE You will have NO work/balance. Especially on second. Ten hour days and Saturdays. Work then sleep, repeat until your day off, repeat until burnt out and then quit. My department has lost so many people, only to refill positions (bid jobs) with new hires who won't stay and have no clue what they're doing, and then not fill them again. Managements a joke, what little is left of it. Dishonest and power tripping for the most part. Or overwhelmed because they have to manage half the plant themselves and have no real idea of the day to day. Hot as hell in summer, hot in winter. Breaks are waaaaay too short. You get two tens and a twenty minute lunch. The lunch is only half paid so they make you stay an extra ten minutes at the end of the day. Training is a joke, new hires who don't know what they're doing train new hires who don't know what they're doing. Causes a lot of rework, lack of quality and lack of production leading to long hours. Add that all the long term staff is burnt out and no longer cares and those same problems increase while employment numbers go down. Did I mention long hours? Bid system and evaluations are a bureaucratic joke stuck to exactly the policy and designed to screw you over. Currently seems like only new hires and dayshift are the only ones moving jobs or being paid well. Lack of sick days become incidents, a few incidents make it so you can no longer bid on jobs. Same thing for evaluations if a manager decides to bend you over. You're then stuck in your position for several months to a year atleast because HR and management are unwilling to work with employees to get new opportunities if they're honest and call in the correct way rather than abusing Pellas FMLA system, or covid guidelines, or employees that are burnt out/"have an attitude" with being treated unfairly and overworked. Dayshift gets treated better, paid better, and is expected to work less hard for less hours than their second shift counterparts. Even staffing themselves less hours when nights works 10 hours shifts and weekends. They also get away with basically whatever they want as the second shift is treated as second class employees Place is becoming a personal hell for employees with no work/life balance, understaffing, underpayment, no career progress or wage increases for some, and poorer treatment compared to peers/other shifts, with no end in sight and no letting up. Seriously don't know why I still work here.
