Pros

The pros and cons are very dependant on who your supervisor is. Luckily I had a wonderful supervisor who genuinely cared about her staff and was very flexible and understanding with hours and time off. PTO is pretty good and the tuition assistance they provide is wonderful.

Cons

Yearly raises are tiny and do not often make up for each year's rising insurance premiums which after getting a tiny raise and then being socked with a yearly insurance premium increase, you can easily be left with a smaller paycheck than the year prior. this has happened to me for the last 2 years. Also. it used to feel like a family and management maintained a very nice balance between making sure the revenue was coming in as well as making sure staff felt appreciated. New HR policies and various new directors have changed the atmosphere and many employees are starting to feel like just a number.

Pros

Great benefits including vision and dental

Cons

Constant changes in support staff led to scheduling mistakes. Was scheduled many times for 10 hour work shifts and would only be paid 8 as I was salaried. The medical specialty in which I worked had a history of high turn-over rate. Poor orientation and false description of what I would be doing at work. By the end of my employment I encountered harassment in the office setting. LARGE disconnect between manager and director HR was not helpful My employment can be summed up in a quote taken from another reviewer on indeed.com: "During the time I was employed there I was aware of numerous occasions where a single employee, physician, nurse, administrative staff were cast to the side and then plagued by accusations in order for them to either quit or be "dismissed" without cause."

Pros

Fast-paced environment. Was able to help treat patients in some really bad circumstances. Refine my skills in regards to working well under pressure. Performed a lot of the sales functions, as the reps were not always present for cases. Was active in both the scrub and circulation roles. Refined my prioritization and critical thinking skills. Participated in Practice and Education Councils.

Cons

Promoting within the hospital was not done; therefore, hard, dedicated work was not rewarded.
