Pros

Fast Growth at company, if you last long enough.

Cons

These two departments make everything harder at Penumbra, lack of communication and inconsistent content and services. Both teams ask you to use a ticket system so you're easier to ignore. Very rude.

Pros

All parts of business are at Alameda, California world headquarters location. The products are innovative, industry leading. Phenomenal growth. CEO's prime motivator seems to be saving lives and improving outcomes for seriously ill patients rather than business bottom line. Very collaborative environment, folks like each other. Good opportunities for advancement within the company. Wall Street believes in the company. I have not felt pressure to meet budgetary goals, or cost saving goals for the sake of making more profit. Efficiency, quality, and engineering objectives are framed as meeting unmet demand for Penumbra's unique products, rather than increasing profits.

Cons

Many growing pains. Company has outgrown all business management systems and roll-out of new systems has been "bumpy" at best, and added user workload instead of reducing user workload. It's currently a bit of a rough ride for folks in operations. It's are "target-rich " environment for systems improvement. Maybe it's just me, but I'm a little uncomfortable with so many husbands/wives, brothers/sisters, parents/children working environment. It kind of feels a little like the US immigration policy of keeping families together more than just plain merit.
