Pros

marketing team is great with good focus on improving current product line.

Cons

a lot about the charm of penumbra has been lost. it no longer is the company to work for. as for the sales team, the rapid growth has made the company operate like a cut throat Bard type where they are looking for the next 'weak link' to cut. they no longer look from within to promote, they look for people with non vascular experience who are male jocks to act as the rep while depending on the clinicals to do all the dirty work, in a particular part of the company, there is a particular area director who clearly favors males over females. The CEO also made a poor judgement call on launching two new products at nearly the same time. I think you should reconsider if you are looking at Penumbra. The amount of call/after hour is not worth the amount of money they pay you. Maybe thats why no one with vascular experience will join the company.

Pros

My direct team, and many others, had many lovely people who wanted to do a good job.

Cons

Decisions made at the highest level of the company negatively impacted company morale and work ethic, as well as the company's ability to successfully innovate. Nepotism is very present, unqualified relatives of high ranking employees were put in positions of leadership that negatively impacted the business. You cannot really expect much different from a public company.
